Why Layered Earth Geology?

Layered Earth integrates your Earth Science curriculum with the latest technology to prepare your students for the skills they'll need in the 21st Century. In a dynamic environment, through step-by-step computer explorations, activities and resources, you''ll guide your students through a geological journey that will rock their world.

Important Advantages of Layered Earth Geology

  1. No need to update software. You are always using the latest version every time you login.
  2. Easier installation and maintenance.
  3. Works over the internet with a modern web browser.
  4. Accessible on most devices, including Desktop Computers, iPads, Chromebooks, and Tablets.

Here's how it works

Students log in to the Layered Earth curriculum and begin by opening the Product Tour which explains how to use the application.  Students then navigate through the 26 logically flowing lessons, running the many simulations and making observations.  They answer questions inside of the application.  The homeschool instructor is given a comprehensive teachers guide containing assessments, answer keys and helpful resources.  Layered Earth is scalable therefore you can use as little or as much of the curriculum as you wish.

Why Layered Earth Geology is Great!

Enable your students to envision Earth as a whole system. Show them tectonic plate boundaries, mountain ranges, volcanoes, earthquakes, mineral resources and biomes. Dive into the Earth's core, slice open a volcano or watch rocks transform. They'll even witness the changing shapes of Earth's major landmasses throughout history!

Manipulating models is an effective way to investigate scientific ideas, especially when dealing with things that are very slow, fast, large or small. With Layered Earth, you'll give your students a virtual model of Earth that can be measured, manipulated and visualized, to build a deeper understanding of how the Earth system works.
