Layered Earth and Starry Night are powerful tools in the hands of teachers. Our curriculum based simulation software products can give students an interactive window into the very structure and function of the earth, atmosphere and universe, from topics like Day and Night, Seasons, Tides and Eclipses, to volcanoes, plate tectonics, earth quakes, the rock cycle and climate change. Our thoughtful, teacher-tested lesson plans provide multiple entry points into astronomy, cosmology, geology, earth science climate and weather.
We offer a variety of Professional Development services in order to best prepare teachers for the rewarding adventure ahead. Our trainings can create knowledge and awareness of earth and space science subjects in a way that engages teaching professionals and guarantees a lasting impression.
K12 instructors will learn how to use technology and hands-on activities to teach the subjects of astronomy, space science, cosmology, earth science and meteorology.
Our training focuses on how to use the Starry Night and Layered Earth Applications. We can customize live or virtual (Webex/GoTo) sessions for any level of expertise. We can provide trainings in absolute basics, for teachers who just need to get going, to tools and techniques that let teachers craft sophisticated scripted planetarium-style presentations.
Your instructors will learn how to use Layered Earth and Starry Night Education products to satisfy national and local science content standards. But we take lessons a step further by helping teachers create a fun, informative and exciting experience for their students.
In addition to our Layered Earth and Starry Night focused training, we can also provide general training such as how to use technology to teach earth and space science, or even advanced subject area knowledge.
